Carrie understands that strong municipal leadership is built on accountability, collaboration, and respect for roles and responsibilities.

City staff play a critical role in delivering services, managing operations, and providing the expertise needed to keep a growing city functioning effectively. The role of council and the mayor is to provide clear direction, establish priorities, ensure accountability to residents, and make informed decisions that serve the long-term interests of the community.

Throughout her leadership career, Carrie has worked within governance structures that require balancing strategic oversight with trust in experienced professionals and subject matter experts. She believes the strongest organizations succeed when leadership sets a clear vision, encourages transparency, asks difficult questions when needed, and empowers qualified people to do the jobs they were hired to do.

Her approach is focused on building a culture of respect, professionalism, and collaboration — where council, staff, businesses, and the community work together toward shared goals for Sarnia’s future.

For more than two decades, Carrie McEachran has led organizations, built partnerships, managed complex budgets, and worked alongside businesses, community organizations, governments, and volunteers to strengthen the Sarnia-Lambton region.

Her career reflects a commitment to responsible leadership, practical problem-solving, and putting people first.

Executive Leadership

Most recently, Carrie has served as President & CEO of the Sarnia-Lambton Chamber of Commerce, where she worked with local businesses, community leaders, educational institutions, and all levels of government to advance economic growth and strengthen the region.

Before joining the Chamber, Carrie served as Executive Director of Rebound, leading one of the region's most respected youth-serving organizations through strategic planning, organizational growth, accreditation, fundraising, and community partnerships.

Earlier leadership roles with Community Living Sarnia-Lambton and Pathways Health Centre for Children provided extensive experience managing programs, leading teams, developing community partnerships, and delivering services that make a meaningful difference in people's lives.

Public Service & Governance

Carrie believes strong communities are built through service and collaboration. Throughout her career, she has contributed her leadership to numerous local, provincial, and national organizations.
